Joodha commits to WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the entire guest experience. For the full baseline and audit checklist, see docs/accessibility/baseline.md in the project repository.

Commitment

This commitment covers the V1 guest experience. The authenticated (signed-in) experience is in scope for later phases.

Known Limitations

We aim to be transparent. The list below is the known V1-launch gaps against our WCAG 2.1 AA commitment, each with a concrete remediation path. Updated quarterly.

  • Live captions for video streams. Auto-generated captions for live broadcasts are not yet available; seller-supplied captions are accepted when provided. Auto-captioning is scheduled for V1.1, which needs speech-to-text infrastructure.
  • External quarterly audit. Vendor selection is in progress. The first external WCAG 2.1 AA audit is scheduled within 90 days of public launch, and its findings will be appended to this list.
  • Web focus management. The public web pages (/, /live/[showId], /show/[showId], /[handle] and the legal pages) rely on browser-default focus order. Skip-link and focus-trap mechanics for client-side route changes land with the focus-management workstream, and this list will be updated on completion.
  • Accessibility ops dashboard. Reduced-motion, large-text, screen-reader and keyboard-only session telemetry is wired in the analytics registry and emitted client-side. The ops surface in PH1-036 (the Guest Funnel Dashboard) lands when the analytics platform is contracted.
  • High-contrast theme. The dark-mode primary palette already exceeds AA contrast on most pairings, reaching AAA on many. A dedicated high-contrast theme is deferred; today you can rely on the OS-level high-contrast setting.
  • WCAG 2.2 criteria. V1 commits to WCAG 2.1 Level AA because its tooling is more mature. We are evaluating the additional 2.2 success criteria for V1.1.
